Four years ago the kishin Asura was released and unleashed a wave of madness over the world. Monsters and creatures that had long lain dormant started to slowly awaken and, along with them, abilities in ordinary humans began to unlock. The ability to do magic, something which had once been solely in the domain of witches, began to pop up in normal society. Those who found they had the gift found that it was often uncontrollable and it wasn't uncommon that the 'gift' turned on them, turning rapidly into a curse as it destroyed those around them before taking the life of the user themselves.
Four years have passed since Asura’s demise. Remnants of the Madness still hover over the world, but for the most part things have become rather peaceful. The DWMA still works hard to keep another Kishin from plaguing the world. The academy has been so preoccupied with keeping another Kishin from emerging that they have been almost completely oblivious to much more dangerous threat.
The Desny family is a rather powerful group of scientists from Russia, working intensely on creating a man made and controllable Kishin. The rise of Asura has only aided in their research, and perhaps made the already unhinged family that much more dangerous. The research has been going for many years, and their dreams may very well soon become a reality. There is a public face to the organization but it's those who lurk beneath the surface that are far more terrifying. The leaders of the research are Olivia and Oliver Desny and both are ruthless in their desires and conduct experiments rather shamelessly on the human body and anything else that sparks their interest.
A brand new class has arrived at the DWMA, a class not just limited to weapons and meisters. Aided by the remaining magic users, can they prevent the Desny's from creating a kishin far worse than the horror that was Asura? Or will the madness left turn the students against each other?
